About Moriyama Rubber Mixers:
Moriyama developed tilt dispersion rubber mixers to provide flexible and efficient mixing of a wide range of elastomers. The tilt mechanism allows the rubber mixer to be installed directly on the floor without the need for a mezzanine or pit, helping reduce installation costs while providing ongoing operational benefits. The large chamber opening facilitates the loading and discharge of materials, while extensive water jackets and an advanced mixing control system provide precise control over the mixing process.

Moriyama continues to develop and improve its rotor technology to provide high-quality, durable rubber mixers with consistent mixing performance for demanding rubber and silicone processing applications.

Rubber Mixer Applications:
Moriyama rubber mixers are used for developing and processing a wide range of rubber and silicone compounds for industrial and specialty applications. Mixer size, rotor configuration, temperature control, and other equipment options can be selected based on the compound, batch size, and processing requirements.
  • Automotive Rubber Products (Oil seal, Body seal, Gasket, Belt, Hose, Tube): Rubber mixers are used to prepare compounds for automotive components such as seals, gaskets, hoses, vibration-control products, and other molded and extruded rubber parts. Consistent mixing and dispersion are important for achieving repeatable compound properties and production performance.
  • Wire & Cable (Rubber, Plastic, Wire harness): Rubber and silicone compounds used for wire and cable insulation and jacketing require consistent dispersion and controlled processing. Moriyama mixers can be configured for laboratory development and production applications involving a variety of elastomer compounds.
  • Rubber Belts & Hoses (Power transmission belt, Conveyor belt): Industrial belts, hoses, and other flexible rubber products require compounds with consistent physical and processing properties. Internal rubber mixers provide controlled incorporation and dispersion of polymers, fillers, oils, curatives, and other ingredients during compound development and production.
  • Rubber Rolls (Rubber, Plastic, Printing, Copying machine): Rubber rolls used in industrial, printing, converting, and other applications require carefully controlled compound properties. Moriyama mixers provide consistent batch-to-batch mixing for developing and producing compounds used in a range of roll applications.
  • Medical & Specialty Rubber (Plug, Cap, Glove, Dental): Rubber and silicone compounds are used in a variety of medical and specialty products where consistent material properties and processing are important. Laboratory-scale Moriyama mixers can be used for compound development, while larger mixers are available for scale-up and production applications.
  • Sporting Goods (Golf ball, Athletic ball): Rubber and silicone materials are used in sporting goods and recreational products requiring specific flexibility, durability, grip, and resilience characteristics. Moriyama mixing equipment can support compound development and production for these applications.
  • Food & Consumer Products (Chewing gum): Rubber and silicone compounds are also used in selected food-contact and consumer-product applications. Mixer configuration and processing conditions can be tailored to the requirements of the specific compound and end product.

Types of Moriyama Mixers:
G2 (Standard) Mixers - For general-purpose production and process development.
G3 (Wonder) Mixers - For applications requiring enhanced dispersion, heat exchange and potentially reduced mixing time.
Laboratory Mixers (Dispersion & Mix-Labo) - For material development, formulation development, R&D and small-batch testing.
Open Mixers (GA, GV, GB, KR) - For applications with low viscosity polymers

Tangential Rotors vs Intermeshing Rotors:
Tangential rotor technology provides excellent mixing performance while allowing easier discharge, faster cleaning, and greater processing flexibility. The open rotor design minimizes material hang-up and makes Moriyama mixers ideal for development, specialty compounds, and production applications requiring frequent compound changes.
